Delaware Division of Libraries receives 2,500+ books

We recently delivered our first shipment of brand new books to Elisabeth Simmons at the Kirkwood Highway Library for the Delaware Division of Libraries Summer Reading Program. Elisabeth kindly has volunteered for years to administrate the donation and make sure that the books find their way to each of the public libraries throughout the state.

This year, our first delivery included over 2,500 new books, which will be given as rewards for participation in the 2010 program. A second donation is planned for the end of June.

Supporting the Summer Reading Program has become an annual tradition at Success Won’t Wait. In 2009, we dedicated the donation in memory of Karen McClure Valone, who passed away suddenly that year. Karen was a longtime friend, lifelong resident of Claymont, and an avid reader. Karen was employed at the Claymont Public Library and was directly involved with the Summer Reading Program each year.

For summer 2010, our donation is dedicated to the memory of Jack L. a classmate of Success Won’t Wait volunteer Matt McNeill. At age 13, Jack tragically lost his battle to cancer this fall. He was a truly remarkable boy who loved to read, loved to learn and brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.
