Success Won’t Wait literacy volunteer Christine McNeill receives commendation from the Delaware State Senate
Christine McNeill, an 8th grader at H.B. duPont Middle School in Hockessin, Delaware, is honored for outstanding community service by the Delaware State Senate.

Success Won’t Wait literacy volunteer Christine McNeill recently received a commendation from Majority Leader Patricia M. Blevins of the Delaware State Senate, 7th District, recognizing “the commitment of an exemplary young Delawarean to the well-being of others and her community.”

Christine, aged 14, is an 8th grader at H.B. duPont Middle School in Hockessin, Delaware. She has volunteered with Success Won’t Wait for 10 years, tackling many different projects. Just a few  include:

  • a 8,000+ book donation for the schoolchildren in New Orleans,
  • Sorting, cleaning and repairing thousands of books for various programs,
  • Creating a teen library at the Claymont Boys and Girls Club,
  • creating dozens of children’s book baskets which are placed in locations where children have to wait, and
  • handing out hundreds of books at the annual Winterthur Point-to-Point Steeplechase.
