September is National Library Card Month. Sign up and WIN at ALA!

“Get in Your Element” this September and sign up for a free library card! From borrowing books, ebooks and museum passes, to getting homework help, learning new skills, or enjoying story time, a public library card helps you do more of the things that you enjoy.

A library card is your most important school supply— and everyone can have one!

Visit your library to see what’s new and take part in the celebration. Libraries across the country are participating.

In Delaware, there are truly amazing libraries in every county:

New Castle County:

Kent County:

Sussex County:

And, don’t forget to visit the new Delaware Libraries YouTube channel for the most current program information.

How Do You Library? Tell the American Library Association (ALA) for the Chance to Win!

Participating is easy:

  1. Snap a pic or shoot a video showcasing how you use your library or choose a library element that best applies to you.
  2. Post to Instagram, X, or on the I Love Libraries Facebook page with the hashtag #HowILibrary.
  3. Tag your library and your friends to help spread the word!

In addition to the gratification of supporting libraries, there’s also a chance to win great prizes.

So, share those book stacks, reading spots, and more! (If you don’t have a photo to share, check out the Library Elements graphics at ilovelibraries.org.)

Join the #HowILibrary movement, and let’s make this the best Library Card Sign-up Month ever!
