Mark Your Calendars! The Friends of the Hockessin Library Book Sale is March 1-2, 2024

Are you familiar with the Friends of the Hockessin Library? Formed in 1975 as a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, the Friends successfully campaigned for county funding, and the Hockessin Public Library was established in 1977. Since then, the Friends have supported the expansion of the original building, construction of a new building (1994), and an expansion (2008). In addition, the Friends have provided funding for materials, equipment, and programs over nearly five decades.

How do the Friends accomplish all of this? One of the biggest fundraising efforts is the group’s Used Book Sale, which occurs four times per year. Since 2011, Success Won’t Wait has been a proud supporter of this event, donating tens of thousands of books over the past thirteen years.

And, the next Book Sale is right around the corner, slated for March 1 and 2, 2024 at the Hockessin Library Community Room. The Sale will run from 10 am to 5 pm on Friday and 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday.

Planning on attending? Get ready for a whale of a sale. You’ll find everything from fiction to biographies, children’s book to cookbooks, self-help to poetry, and everything in between. Come prepared with cash and checks only. Credit cards will NOT be accepted. All proceeds benefit the Hockessin Public Library.

Additional Book Sales for 2024 will be held on May 31-June 1, September 20-21, and November 22-23.
