At Success Won’t Wait, we know how powerful it is to build alliances with like-minded organizations across the state. And, when we learned about Project SHE Blooms, we knew we had to get involved! So, this week Success Won’t Wait donated 200+ Kindergarten through 5th grade books to the organization’s first annual book drive.
What is Project SHE Blooms? Based in the Delaware, this organization’s mission is to provide educational scholarships and resources to support literacy and wellness in the community. (The “SHE” aptly stands for SERVE, HEAL, and EMPOWER.)
Project SHE Blooms was founded in memory of Bria Marie Nix, who tragically died in February 2024. The organization is the embodiment of a vision that Bria had created several years prior to her death, leaving behind detailed notes, goals, and plans.
As beloved educator, Bria knew first-hand the power of strong reading skills and its impact on student success. Her compassion and dedication to her students were legendary and according to her family, she truly had a heart for helping all children reach their full potential. There was not a day that went by – no matter how difficult – that Bria was not encouraging a young child to do his or her best.
The Project SHE Blooms book drive runs through January 2025 with a goal to collect 1000 books. And we think they are well on their way! Please contact Shelley Nix at 302-494-7758 to learn more, volunteer or donate.
