The New Castle County building serves as the central hub for government operations, business affairs, and essential services within New Castle County, Delaware. Every day, dedicated employees work to improve the quality of life for all county residents. Their efforts and commitment to public service make a meaningful difference in the community!
Recognizing the need for a space where employees can relax and unwind, New Castle County Council President Monique Williams-Johns initiated an exciting new project—an on-site mini library designed specifically for county employees. When Success Won’t Wait was approached to bring this vision to life, we eagerly accepted the challenge.
Last week, Success Won’t Wait volunteers carefully curated a collection of books tailored to address the diverse interests of the on-site employees. This collection includes many genres, such as self-help, finance and investing, biographies, fiction, history, and even cooking. By offering a wide selection, the mini library ensures that every employee can find something enjoyable to read during their breaks – or take home to read later!
This week, the new mini library was officially installed in the lounge area of the New Castle County building. Now, employees can take moment to relax, recharge… and read! The addition of this resource not only promotes leisure reading, but also fosters continuous learning and personal growth among the hardworking staff.
The launch of the mini library marks the beginning of an ongoing initiative to enhance the workspace for New Castle County employees. Thanks to the leadership of Monique Williams-Johns, there are already plans in place to expand the reading area later this spring. The expansion will include additional shelving and an even broader selection of books.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to Monique Williams-Johns (pictured) for her vision and support in creating this opportunity for county employees. The mini library is more than just a collection of books—it’s a symbol of the county’s commitment to the well-being of its workforce. By fostering a culture of reading and learning, this initiative will have a lasting positive impact.
As the project continues to grow, stay tuned for updates on new developments and future enhancements to the mini library space. Success Won’t Wait remains committed to promoting literacy and looks forward to seeing the mini library flourish in the months ahead. With the support of dedicated volunteers and county leadership, this initiative is sure to become a cherished resource for all who work in the New Castle County building.
