For more than 50 years, the Friends of the Hockessin Library has supported much-needed library building expansions, materials, equipment, and programs for the residents of Hockessin, Delaware and surrounding neighborhoods.

How does the Friends group accomplish all of this? Serious fundraising… all year long! And, the most important fundraisers are the group’s quarterly Used Book Sales. A proud supporter of these events since 2011, we’ve donated tens of thousands of books to help with important initiatives.

If you’ve never been, the next Used Book Sale is right around the corner! The event is slated for May 30-31, 2025, in the Community Room at the Hockessin Library, which is located at 1023 Valley Road, Hockessin. You’ll find everything from YA fiction to biographies, children’s picture books to gardening, plus everything in between. 

If you’re planning on attending, come prepared with cash and checks only. Credit cards will NOT be accepted. All proceeds benefit the Hockessin Public Library.

Can’t make it to the May sale? Book sales will also be held on September 5-6, 2025 and November 21-22, 2025.
