Summer is just around the corner and your family’s summer adventure begins at… the public library! Now in its 46th year, the annual Summer Library Reading Program is eagerly anticipated by children and parents alike.
This year’s theme, “Color Our World,” invites families to embark on a journey of art and creativity, celebrating the myriad ways in which art enriches our lives… every single day.
The program offers participants the opportunity to learn over the summer break in a fun way, while sharpening literacy skills. It also provides encouragement for reluctant readers and fosters a lifelong passion for reading.
It’s easy to get started. Download a reading log, then simply cross out a symbol for each 15 minutes you read. Each row = 1 hour! It’s that simple.
