Community Voices Wanted: Improve Education in Wilmington, Delaware

Are you a Wilmington parent, educator, or community member? Mark your calendars now for the upcoming Community Council Retreat! The event is scheduled for Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 9:30 am – 1:00 pm at the William C Lewis Dual Language Elementary School. Lewis is located at 920 North Van Buren St. in Wilmington, Delaware. This event connects Wilmington, Delaware families with school staff and includes Community Council meetings, an opportunity to meet the Community Partner Organizations who provide services at the Community Partner Expo, and enjoy a delicious summer cookout. This is a chance to discuss issues that are important to everyone who cares about Wilmington City Schools - to share ideas, learn about community resources, and meet others who are working to make our schools better. Quarterly Community Council Retreats gather members of all nine Community Schools Councils including: • Pulaski Early Education Center • The Bayard School • William C Lewis Dual Language Elementary School • Joseph E Johnson Elementary School • Warner Elementary • Evan G Shortlidge Academy • Harlan Elementary • Stubbs Early Education Center • Maurice Pritchett Sr Academy The Community Council Retreat is free, open to the public, and include breakfast, lunch, and childcare, but require registration (Esta información y registro también están disponibles en español en el sitio web del Consejo Comunitario.)
