Margherita Carrieri-Russo
A mainstay of the Success Won’t Wait Board, Margherita Carrieri-Russo began her involvement with the organization when she was just in junior high! As a motivated 8th grader, she hosted her first book drive and never looked back. Since then, she has been involved in hundreds of events which have yielded over 1 million books for programs around the state, across the country, and even internationally.
Success Won’t Wait relies not only on Margherita’s impressive work ethic, but also on her business acumen. Margherita is one of the driving forces behind the V&M Bistro, which she co-founded with older sister Vincenza. She also co-owns Ice Cream Delight in Wilmington, Delaware and is the creator of the iconic Delaware favorite “Boozy Ice Cream.” During the pandemic, Margherita was a driving force to help pass legislation in the state of Delaware, signed by the Governor, allowing the sale of alcohol-infused ice cream for take-out.
In 2015, her business vision was recognized state-wide when she was named the top Woman in Business for Delaware. And in 2019, she was featured on the cover of PMQ Pizza Magazine, a national restaurant publication.
