According to the recent article “The Surprising Benefits of Early Reading” in Psychology Today, in 2023 researchers published the results of a study of more than 10,000 teens regarding reading, assessing participants over a period of years. The results, “showed that children who start reading early, for the sheer pleasure of it, develop brain structure in such a way that they improve their thinking skills, mental health, and conduct.” Of course, here at Success Won’t Wait, this study simply confirmed what we always knew – when it comes to kids and reading, the earlier the better. Which is why, when we were approached by Dora Munoz-Ayala, Children & Families First, Team Leader at the Pulaski Early Education Center in Wilmington, Delaware about a donation for pre-K and Kindergarten students, we were thrilled to help!
