We first learned about this project in December of 2006, when we donated a small box of new books to the Toys for Tots Program of Delmarva. In 2007, the second year we participated, we stepped up our efforts and began collecting items in the summer for the November event.

Led by volunteer Ashley McNeill, we created “packages” — each package included three or four new books and some fun items, like stuffed animals, watches, little plastic horses, etc. all of which were bundled together with curly ribbon. T

hese books and small gifts were donated to Success Won’t Wait by Pony USA Book Club. Twice a year, they send Success Won’t Wait book club “returns” and these returns contained small items. We donated over 700 of these packages, ensuring that children all over the Delmarva peninsula enjoyed a wonderful holiday.
