Personal Ponies and Success Won’t Wait Continue Partnership

Christine with Pony Club BooksThis weekend, we made another large donation of hardbound children’s books to the wonderful organization Personal Ponies, Delaware. This group works with physically and mentally challenged kids and teaches them responsibility, patience and other life lessons by working directly with UK Shetland Ponies.

According to the Personal Ponies official website, “Personal Ponies began with the dream of our founder, Marianne Alexander (and just two ponies) to do something special for special children. As a breeder of Connemara Ponies and Irish Sport Horses, for more than 3 decades, she wanted to give something back. She discovered the incredible sensitivity of the UK Shetland Pony to children with disabilities, and saw first hand how they changed children’s lives.

Thanks to the tireless energy of Marianne, PPL has grown into an international organization involving hundreds of volunteers throughout the country. PPL has programs in almost every state, has placed ponies with many hundreds of children with hundreds more are on waiting lists. 2008-PP Reading to Ponies 011This donation to Personal Ponies was made possible because of the tremendous assistance we have received over the years from PONY Book Club USA. The company has donated thousands of beautiful “pony-related” books to Success Won’t Wait through the years, making it possible for us to partner with great organizations like Personal Ponies. PONY Book Club USA is the #1 book club for kids who love horses. For more information, please visit them at http://www.pony4kids.com.
