Plans are well underway for one of our favorite book-giveaway events each year – the Point-to-Point Steeplechase held annually at spectacular Winterthur Museum and Gardens on Sunday, May 2. In addition to a thrilling day of steeplechase races, the event also boasts an antique carriage parade, an extravagant tailgate competition, and lots of fun for the entire family.
Success Won’t Wait is a sponsor of the “Winterthur Hunt” a special event for children. The day’s youngest attendees can pick up a Winterthur Hunt Map and a special “saddle bag” to start their search for goodies at each “station.” Collect stamps for all of the stations and proceed to the Success Won’t Wait tent to receive a final prize – a horse-themed book to take home.
In addition to Success Won’t Wait, the event is presented by PONY Book Club USA, Personal Ponies, Laura Novak Photography, Delaware Digital Video Factory, La Petite Spa & Salon, and Ramsey’s Farm.
Yesterday, Race Director Jill Abbott and I organized the giveaways, stamps, maps, crafts and activities, plus of course, thousands of books! Jill is pictured here at the storage garage on-site and in the distance you can see the lovely Winterthur grounds — pristine now, but soon to host tens of thousands of steeplechase fans!
