Congratulations to long-time Success Won’t Wait volunteer Matt McNeill who is one of 50 kids nationwide to be recognized this summer as a Nestlé Drumstick Hero. The Nestlé Drumstick brand created the award to celebrate young people who have accomplished amazing things — children and teenagers who have made a difference in the lives of others.
“This is the second year that the Nestlé Drumstick brand team is recognizing and rewarding young people who are making a positive difference in their communities,” said John Harrison, Official Ice Cream Taster for the Nestlé Drumstick brand. Entries from across the country were judged on the child or teenager’s accomplishments, as well as the originality and creativity used to achieve their goals.
Matt was recognized by Nestlé for a 2,500 book donation to the Delaware Division of Libraries for the annual summer reading program. Matt organized the selection of books, earmarked for every library in the state, and even delivered them.
Matt is a 14 year old 9th grader at Archmere Academy. He has volunteered with Success Won’t Wait for over eight years in a variety of capacities. In addition, he has participated in dozens of special events, book drives, and special projects.
