Mark your calendars for October 16. It’s the annual Duel on the Delaware and Miracle of Reading Education Book Drive! The event, held once again at Salem County Community College is sponsored by Delaware’s FIRST robotics team. Each year Success Won’t Wait collects thousands of lbs. of used books at the event — our record is a whopping 7 TONS!

WHAT: A sports competition featuring 120-lb robots built by teams of high school students earlier this year. The robots play 2-minute matches of a 3-dimensional soccer game called Breakaway!

FIRST: For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. FIRST is a non-profit organization with a mission to inspire and excite students of all ages to pursue careers in science and technology. FIRST sponsors programs for students from elementary school through high school.

• FIRST Tech Challenge – smaller-scale high school robotics sponsored by FIRST
• Opportunities for students in educational robotics programs

CHARITY: Bring your used children’s, teens, or adult books for donation to Success Won’t Wait, Inc. Books will be distributed where they are needed locally.
