National Make A Difference Day is the most encompassing national day of helping others — a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Created by USA WEEKEND Magazine, Make A Difference Day is an annual event that takes place on the fourth Saturday of every October.
Millions have participated. In 2009 alone, 3 million people cared enough about their communities to volunteer on that day, accomplishing thousands of projects in hundreds of towns!
This year, Success Won’t Wait student volunteers gathered at headquarters to sort and repair thousands of children’s books. Processed books are destined for schools and libraries in need of materials throughout Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Many thanks to Elizabeth and Anna Gonye (Charter School of Wilmington), Addie Berger (Ursuline Academy), Christine McNeill and Claire Gonye (HB duPont) and Julianna Short (Conrad School) for their outstanding work!
