Every month, the Extended Day, Before and After School Program students at The Chesnutwold School in Ardmore, Pennsylvania conduct some sort of service project. What a wonderful way to teach children that even small people can make a big difference!
Last month, their project was to hold a used book drive for Success Won’t Wait’s literacy projects. The students created colorful drop boxes and publicized the event to family, friends, and neighbors. The drive netted an amazing 400+ children’s books!
The books collected by The Chesnutwold School students will be used to fulfill several current projects including a Boys and Girls Club, as well as several elementary schools who lost school library books due to Hurricane Sandy.
Many thanks to the teachers who created this project and to the many students who particpated!
