A few weeks ago, Success Won’t Wait was contacted by Grace Long, who introduced us to the organization Treasures for Teachers. What’s so special about Grace? Well, she’s actually a tiny 7-year-old who is pursuing one very big community service project!
Grace explained that she was interested in providing books for schools in nearby Philadelphia, Chester and in New Castle County, whose populations include 50% or more free/reduced lunches. We thought that was a great idea, so together we got busy!
Last week, Grace Long, her mother Martine Long, Cristen Zipf of Treasures for Teachers, and Susan McNeill of Success Won’t Wait spent an afternoon searching for kindergarten through high school aged books for Grace’s project. The result was a donation of over 1,700 books which will be distributed to teachers and students in need!
Many thanks to Grace for bringing our attention to this wonderful organization and for spearheading such an impressive project!
