Mark Your Calendars! May 29-30, 2026 is the Friends of the Hockessin Library Used Book Sale

Get ready, book lovers! For more than half a century, the Friends of the Hockessin Library has been the powerhouse behind the library we all love, fueling massive expansions, fresh new collections and the cutting-edge programs designed to make the Hockessin community thrive.

How does this great group of volunteers pull it off? Non-stop fundraising energy all year long, of course! This includes the legendary Quarterly Used Book Sale. As a partner since 2011, Success Won’t Wait is proud to have helped support these sales with tens of thousands of donated books over the years.

Don’t miss out! The next big sale is happening May 29-30 (10:00 am – 3:00 pm) right in the Hockessin Library Community Room (1023 Valley Road). Whether you’re hunting for a rare biography, a new cookbook, children’s treasures just in time for summer reading or simply the perfect beach novel for yourself, you’ll find it at the Friends of the Hockessin Library Used Book Sale.

Most books amongst the thousands offered range between $1 – $3, so bring a sturdy tote. And, this is an old-school “treasure hunt,” so please bring cash or checks, as no credit cards will be accepted.

Every single dollar goes directly back into making the Hockessin Public Library even better.
