September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance

60E90A14-0D24-6766-FD8B-97C12AF968E3This September 11, President Obama, the Corporation for National and Community Service, MyGoodDeed, ServiceNation, and 9/11 families and service organizations will call on all Americans to remember the tragic events of September 11 and to voluntarily serve in honor of the heroes of that day.

We encourage all citizens to remember the tragic events of September 11, 2001 that inspired Americans to come together in a remarkable spirit of unity and compassion. Eight years later, we continue to honor the victims and heroes of that day through the first federally recognized September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance. This designation is the culmination of years of work led by the 9/11 community, including family members and support groups, who came together to create this observance as a way for the nation to forever remember the lives of those lost and injured, and pay tribute to those who rose in service following the attacks.

The volunteers of Success Won’t Wait will meet on Friday afternoon at the office/warehouse in Wilmington, Delaware to finalize several projects currently underway and to begin organizing the 5th annual Toys for Tots donation, spearheaded by Ashley McNeill.
