When a concerned parent contacted us to let us know that Highlands Elementary School in Wilmington, Delaware needed books for its kindergarten and 1st graders’ library visits, we know we had to help! Although they’ve always had library visits, kindergarteners and 1st graders have recently received library privileges at the school. The problem? Not enough age appropriate books for all of those little ones who were so excited to read!
So, this afternoon, Highlands Elementary received its first installment of books for its youngest students. Over 150 carefully chosen books were delivered — with more on the way in the coming weeks!
The Highlands Elementary motto is “Learning and Growing Together,” but we’d like to add “reading” to the mix!
Very happy to read this! I had not heard about this yet and my son attends this school.
Thanks for the comment! We have donated over 1000 books for past needs, and more K-1st grade books are coming soon!
