When we were contacted about donating children’s books to Red Bird Mission in Kentucky, we knew we needed to help! Red Bird Mission has been providing much-needed services in the Appalachian Mountains since 1921. Yet today, the need still remains critical in this isolated, rural, distressed area.  Chronic poverty, lack of jobs, poor housing, and rugged mountainous terrain provide obstacles to a fuller life for area residents.

To, this week, we donated almost 200 children’s books to the mission, with more to come throughout the next few months.
