This week, the second Pancakes for Peace event will be held in Wilmington, Delaware and once again, Success Won’t Wait will be part of the festivities. This week, we donated an additional 500 children’s books, which will be given away at the event. Combined with a previous donation from the first event, the total now tops 1,000 books!
The brainchild of The Honorable James Hanby, a Wilmington Justice of the Peace, Pancakes for Peace is an exciting project that seeks solutions to Wilmington’s ongoing violence by combating some of the basic causes of it — poverty and illiteracy.
At the Pancakes for Peace series, students and surrounding community members are invited to a free breakfast. At the breakfast, volunteers from local community groups, faith groups, and governmental agencies help attendees not only at the breakfast, but in getting plugged into what assistance might be available to them.
