This week, we partnered with another great volunteer organization, the Friends of the Wilmington Public Library! By donating 1,000+ books to the group, we are helping support the services of the Wilmington Library in Delaware.
The Friends do so much for the library. A few examples include:
- Providing new equipment for the Library,
- Providing new books and audio-visual materials for public use,
- Contributing 1,800 hours annually of volunteer time for improved Library Services.
- Paying for Literacy Volunteers of America students and tutors to attend national conferences, and
- Supporting the Library’s “Focus on Quality” Capital/Endowment Campaigns.
How do they do all that? Through fundraising efforts including a semi-annual book sale. The books that Success Won’t Wait donated – from self-help, to crafts, to cooking – will help fund the ongoing maintenance and expansion of the Library and its programs.
