This week, Success Won’t Wait made another donation of over 2,100+ kindergarten through 12th grade children’s books to Treasures for Educators, bringing our program total to a an amazing 12,300+ books! Treasures for Educators is the Pennsylvania-based not-for-profit organization whose mission is to equip classrooms in under-supplied schools in the tri-state area.

Why is Treasures for Educators so important? According to a recent Huffington Post article (September 2015) teachers continue to fund far too many supplies out-of-pocket. Rebecca Klein, editor for Huffington Post Education explains, “All around the country educators are being forced to do more with less. Last year, teachers spent an average of about $500 of their own money on supplies for students.” And, some spend far, far more.

Treasures for Educators (TFE) offers teachers an alternative.  TFE donates to over 1,000 preschool, elementary, middle and high school teachers in publicly funded educational settings: public schools, charter schools and HeadStart. From pencils and notebooks, to arts and crafts supplies, to books (most often supplied by Success Won’t Wait, naturally!), teachers can claim the items that their students need most — and it’s all FREE.
