Celebrating National Friends of Libraries Week with a donation to the Wilmington Public Library

where to donate books DelawareThis week (October 16-22, 2016) marks National Friends of Libraries Week. And, Success Won’t Wait is celebrating with a donation to one of our favorite local libraries — the Wilmington Public Library!

Success Won’t Wait donated an additional 1000 books to Friends of the Wilmington Library this week, bringing our project total to an impressive 14,350 books since 2015!
The books donated by Success Won’t Wait will be sold at the semi annual Used Book Sale held by the Library. The Used Book Sale is scheduled for October 22-26, 2016, with a Member’s Preview slated for October 22 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. This is a preview for the Friends of Wilmington Library current members. And, membership is accepted at the door!

In addition to the 1000 books provided by Success Won’t Wait, thousands of books and audio visual materials will be available for sale. Items are generally priced from between .50 -$2.00. The sale benefits the Friends of Wilmington Library.

Proceeds from the Used Book Sale are used for:

  • equipment for the Wilmington Library,
  • books and audio-visual materials for public use,
  • expenses for Literacy Volunteers of America students and tutors to attend national conferences,
  • publicity for Library events and advocacy for Library services, and
  • major funding in support of the Library’s “Focus on Quality” Capital/Endowment Campaigns.
