This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Stockings for Soldiers project and Success Won’t Wait volunteers were happy to get involved with a donation of 250 books, bound for our brave young men and women in uniform who serve overseas.
Stockings for Soldiers was founded to help improve the morale and welfare of members of the US armed forces who are deployed in harm’s way. Stockings for Soldiers volunteers sew holiday stockings and fill them with special items for the troops.
This “touch of home” reminds our troops that we appreciate all they do for us and
to let them know that they have not been forgotten over the holidays.
Want to get involved? Here’s a list of the items which are most needed:
- Small Candy, Mini-candy bars (send your favorite)
- Granola/Fruit/Breakfast Bars
- Cookies/Nuts/Pretzels/Trail Mix o Less than 12 oz. size
- Flavored drink mixes (Single Packets) o Lemonade, teas, hot cocoa, coffee Chewing gum
- Fruit roll-ups/gushers/Cracker Jacks
- Slim Jims/Beef Jerky
- Ramen Noodle Soup
- Single packs preferred
- DVD Movies
- Music CDs
- Hand/Foot Warmers/Flyswatters
- Small Individually Packages Meals
- Tuna/Lasagna/Beefaroni/Fruit
- Smaller package (8 oz or less) preferred

- Paperback Books (no romance novels)
