During the Covid-19 pandemic, simple pleasures, such as reading a great book, have become more important than ever before. But, with the crisis shuttering libraries across the country, safe, easy access to free books has been challenging for Delaware seniors on a fixed income. When New Castle County Council President candidate Monique Johns asked for help, the volunteers at Success Won’t Wait were happy to oblige!

Our volunteers sorted through existing donations for high quality, hardbound fiction and non-fiction books on a wide variety of subjects. From spy novels and thrillers, to sports biographies and love stories, they found something for any interest.

Earlier this week, 170 books (which had been sanitized using organic cleaner and then boxed for 1 full week) were delivered to the Brandywine Senior Center at the Claymont Community Center in Claymont, Delaware.

Many thanks to Monique Johns, who organized the donation, and to the Claymont Community Center who will handle the distribution of the books to local New Castle County seniors.
