When Success Won’t Wait co-founder Vincenza Carrieri-Russo was contacted by Andrea Miller of A&Y Birthday Blessings (Magnolia, Delaware), she was intrigued. Not only does A&Y provide enrichment activities, family support services, and literacy/story-based learning, they also create customized children’s birthday baskets filled with a variety of items for many families who are experiencing financial hardship, housing instability, or life transitions.

And, that’s where Success Won’t Wait comes in! Success Won’t Wait recently provided A&Y with 300 books for their customized birthday baskets.

“At A&Y Birthday Blessings, we believe every child deserves to feel celebrated, supported, and valued regardless of their circumstances. For many families creating meaningful moments for their children can feel out of reach. Basic needs often take priority, leaving little room for celebration, enrichment, or connection. Too often, joy becomes a luxury instead of something every child should naturally experience,” explains Miller.

The A&Y mission is rooted in the belief that celebration, literacy, creativity, and community support all play an important role in a child’s emotional well-being and development. And, the group strives to create experiences that remind children and families that they matter, fostering joy, confidence, imagination, dignity.
